# Selection List

> Use Selection List when users should choose one or more visible options.

## What it is

**Selection List** shows a group of options that users can tap to choose.

## What it's best for

Use it when you want users to compare visible choices before selecting one or many.

## When to use it

* Select goals
* Choose preferences
* Pick a persona or plan type
* Capture interest in specific features

## When not to use it

* Do not use it for very long lists that are hard to scan on one screen.
* Do not use it when the choice is best made through typed input.

## How to add it in the dashboard

1. Open the screen in the dashboard.
2. Add **Selection List** from the **Components panel**.
3. Select it on the **canvas**.
4. In the **properties panel**, add options and choose the layout style.
5. Adjust spacing and selected-state styling so the active choice is easy to understand.

## Best practices

* Keep option labels short and comparable.
* Make the selected state clearly different from the unselected state.
* Use auto-advance only when the question is simple and low-risk.
* Pair the list with a clear question so users know what they are choosing.

* Showing too many options at once
* Making selected and unselected states look too similar
* Mixing options with very different lengths and visual weight
